Linkages & Retention Advisor – Public Health Spec

US Embassy is recruiting a Linkages & Retention Advisor - Public Health Spec, to be based Maputo.

Duties
  • The incumbent is an HIV/AIDS public health specialist responsible for the development, planning and management of programs that create functional linkages and retention systems consistent with strategic objectives of the President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR)
  • These include specifically developing and, implementing evidence-based strategies that support effective linkages between HIV prevention, counseling and testing; and care & treatment services
  • The incumbent will provide guidance and technical assistance to the Ministry of Health (MISAU)and CDC’s implementing partners on strengthening existing linkages and retention strategies developing new and creative ideas to further improve linkages between counselling and testing services and clinical care, support and treatment services
  • Ensuring effective referral systems within clinical services at health facility; and also ensuring effective referral systems between the community and health facility
  • The incumbent is responsible for monitoring linkage and retention indicators through annual, semi-annual and quarterly analysis of the data, perform site monitoring and supervision visits and measure the impact of implemented interventions to inform policy decision processes
  • He or She works closely with MISAU to ensure that national-level data on linkages and retention are available, accurate and reliable
  • The incumbent will be part of the Care & Treatment Branch and will be supervised by the Deputy Branch Chief
Requisites
  • Master’s Degree or host country equivalent required
  • Five years of experience in a health field is required
  • Level IV English (fluency in both written and verbal) is required
  • Level IV Portuguese (fluency in both written and verbal) is required
