Renco is recruiting a Junior Treasury Accountant, to be based in Pemba, Mozambique.
Duties
- Daily Bookkeeping: You will handle the accurate and timely recording of all cash and bank
transactions (payments, receipts, transfers) in the accounting system for all companies within the
group
- Bank Reconciliations: Perform regular reconciliations of all company bank accounts, identifying and
resolving any discrepancies
- Ledger Management: Reconcile accounts receivable (customer) and accounts payable (supplier)
sub-ledgers to ensure balances are correct and up-to-date
- Month-End Support: Assist with month-end closing procedures, including the preparation of
adjusting journal entries
- Financial Account Support: Provide support in reconciling financing and loan accounts, ensuring
that interest and principal repayments are correctly posted
- Transaction Verification: Ensure all treasury transactions are properly authorized and documented
according to company policy before processing
- Filing and Documentation: Maintain an organized and complete archive of all accounting
documents (invoices, receipts, bank statements)
- General Support: Provide assistance to the administration team with other accounting and
administrative tasks as required
Requisites
- A Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Economics, Finance, or a related field
- 1-2 years of relevant experience in a similar accounting or finance role. Direct
- Experience with bookkeeping and reconciliations is highly desirable
- A solid understanding of basic accounting and bookkeeping principles is essential
- Proficiency with the MS Office suite, particularly MS Excel
- Familiarity with any ERP or accounting software is an advantage
- High attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy
- Good organizational and time management skills
- A proactive attitude and a strong desire to learn
