CONTACT is recruiting a Junior Data Analyst, to be based in Maputo, Mozambique.
Duties
- Reporting to the MERL Manager, you will be responsible for entering, uploading, updating and organizing data in IsoMetrix and other tools; keeping records, tracking sheets, databases and supporting documents properly organised; assisting with the import and export of data using approved templates; providing basic support to users regarding data entry and the use of the system
- Support the use of IsoMetrix as a SuperUser for the relevant modules, when designated; check data for missing, duplicate, incomplete or inconsistent information; liaise with the relevant teams to ensure that simple gaps or inconsistencies in the data are corrected; report recurring or significant issues relating to data quality; prepare tables, charts, dashboards and data summaries
- Support the preparation of monthly, quarterly and ad hoc reports; consolidate information received from environmental and social teams; support the preparation of information for meetings, presentations, audits and reviews
- Keep electronic files and supporting documents organised; assist with the preparation and updating of data templates and simple user guidelines; develop practical skills in IsoMetrix, data management, report writing and data visualization
Requisites
- A degree in Statistics, Data Science, Information Systems, Computer Science, Mathematics, Economics or a relevant field
- A recent graduate or a professional at the start of their career
- A maximum of 2 years’ relevant professional experience in data analysis, data management, information systems, monitoring and evaluation, reporting or related areas
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Excel
- Basic knowledge of Power BI, SQL, Python, R, Power Query, ODK, KoboToolbox and GIS, and an understanding of environmental and social issues
- Basic knowledge of data organisation, analysis and reporting
- Ability to prepare tables, charts and summaries of information
- High attention to detail and rigour in carrying out tasks
- Ability and willingness to learn and use new software and systems
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Exposure to environmental and social issues, sustainability or project performance management
- Fluency in Portuguese and a working knowledge of English
- Ability to handle confidential information responsibly
- Willingness to travel regularly and work on remote project sites as required (to Tete)
- Mozambican nationality
