Florestas de Niassa is recruiting a Human Resources Officer, to be based in Lichinga and Niassa, Mozambique.

Description
  • A vacancy has arisen for the position of Human Resources Officers. The positions is based at our Head Office in Lichinga in Niassa Province; Reporting to the Managing Director, the Human Resource Officer provides progressive leadership to Florestas de Niassa in all aspects of human resources, including human resource planning, policy development, management and administration, human resource aftercare and support, pension and benefits plan administration, and reporting
Duties
  • Develops, implements and maintains key Human Resource Department Plans such as the Recruitment and Retention Plan, Job Classification and Compensation Plan, Employee Succession Plan and Training and Development Plan
  • Manages the recruitment of all new employees in conjunction with Departmental Heads
  • Ensures all job descriptions are current and related employment contracts are maintained for all new and existing employees
  • Supports the completion of employee probationary and annual performance evaluations
  • Monitors all employment contracts to ensure that they remain compliant with the relevant employment agreement
  • Prepares and manages the Company’s Payroll in liaison with the Finance Manager
  • Manages the INSS and IRPS Schemes to ensure compliance with the law
  • Updates and maintains all personnel files and records in a safe and secure location
  • Undertakes measures necessary to ensure that the organisation provides a healthy and safe environment for all of its employees
  • Ensures compliance with all applicable legislation such as the Mozambique Labour Law
  • Conducts and or assists with any employee disciplinary action as required
  • Ensures the maintenance of good industrial relations within the Company through effective communication and providing support to Departmental and Sectional Managers
  • Manages communication processes between employees and management
  • Prepares weekly and monthly reports for the department
  • Excellent knowledge of Mozambican labour and other relevant legislation
  • Excellent knowledge of human resource planning, management, and administration in a 300+ employee sized organization
  • Knowledge of the Sage-VIP Payroll system is an added advantage
  • Experience in managing the INSS Scheme and other Benefits Schemes
  • Strong communication skills, including written, verbal, and presentation
  • Proficient interpersonal skills, including conflict resolution, collaboration, facilitation, negotiation, and team building
  • Ability to work well with other managers from a wide range of department areas
  • Ability to work flexible hours as required
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license and willing to travel regularly to plantations
  • Must provide a clear Criminal Records Check
  • Fluency in Portuguese and English is a requirement. Knowledge of Yao would be an added advantage
  • Proficiency in the use of computer programs for: Word processing – MS Word, Power Point, Publisher , Databases, Spreadsheets – MS Excel, E-mail - MS Outlook and Working Conditions
Requisites
  • University degree or college diploma (two year minimum) in Human Resource Management or Psychology
  • Must have a minimum of three (3) years of successful employment experience within a commercial forestry or agriculture environment with progressive levels of responsibility

  • The Human Resource Officer usually works a standard 5 day week but however the flexibility to work over weekends and extra hours is requirement
