Connect is hiring a Human Resources Manager for Maputo.
Duties
Oversee the recruitment of staff and general employees throughout the subsidiary in line with company procedures
Take full control of advertising, shortlisting, interviewing, appointments, reference checking, induction, etc. in adherence with country laws and company procedures
Keep constant and consistent contact with employees to ensure that their stay in the company is cushioned
Take the lead in HR policy and procedures formulation
Ensure that policies and procedures are communicated throughout the subsidiary
Ensure compliance to legislation, ISO, NOSA standards and policies and procedures
Ensure the election of workers representatives in every new site within a month of project start
Ensure Labour Meetings are convened at least once a month in every project
Report back to management through minutes of these meetings
Attend all meetings on an advisory role (if HR Officer does not attend)
Ensure Meeting of Workers Council at least 3 times a year – one of these meetings being wage negotiation meetings (where applicable)
Lead the drafting of collective agreements, ensuring they are duly signed and where necessary they are endorsed by the courts
Control subsidiary training planning and Implementation in line with Group plan
Liaise with all departments in ensuring that training plans are drafted and implemented
Ensure the keeping of a proper record for all trainings carried out
Advise all departments on progress made and make recommendations where necessary
Ensure record keeping of all employee/staff documentation
Assist individual expatriate staff members/ subcontractors in the application of work permits
Ensure application of compliance certificates when required
Where necessary, take full control of the payroll
Conduct regular audits of personnel on sites/projects to minimise ghost employees
Ensure the smoothing of the exit process of staff members and ensure adherence to procedure
Liaise with service providers and government departments where HR issues are concerned i.e. Pension providers, Medical Aid, notification of the department of Labour prior to effecting retrenchments
Requisites
National Higher Diploma/Degree in Human Resource Management or equivalent
3 to 5 years experience in Human Resources
