KfW Maputo is recruiting a Good Governance/Decentralization & Biodiversity Portfolio Coordinator, to be based in Maputo, Mozambique.

- KfW is Germany’s state-owned bank and a leading promotional bank. KfW implements projects on behalf of the German Government and other financiers such as the European Union
- KfW is recruiting a Good Governance/Decentralization (80%) & Biodiversity (20%) Portfolio Coordinator for its office in Maputo starting from 1 October 2025. S/he will provide professional support to and work in tandem with Portfolio Managers based in Frankfurt and Maputo to ensure effective implementation of the respective projects in Mozambique. The candidate will also support sector coordination and represent KfW in meetings in the areas of Good governance/Decentralization and Biodiversity in Maputo
Duties
- Support effective implementation of the portfolio: support project acquisition, appraisal, monitoring, management, and implementation, prepare and contribute to project reports, organize and accompany missions
- Act as focal point for Good governance/Decentralization and Biodiversity sectors represent KfW at meetings and events, conduct sector analysis and contribute to/ write strategy papers
- Ensure smooth cooperation and communication with Mozambican partners and donors
- Guide and manage public relations activities to increase visibility
Requisites
- The candidate will need to meet the following minimum requirements (to be specifically and conclusively indicated in your CV):
Mozambican nationality is a must
- University degree (equal to MA or higher) in economics, social sciences or related areas
- At least 3 years of professional experience in project management/coordination in international organizations in the relevant sectors. Experience with development banks is an advantage
- In-depth understanding of development issues in Mozambique as well as good knowledge of government policies and procedures
- Excellent analytical and communication skills in Portuguese and English (oral and written). Proven ability to analyse data and write reports in English. German language skills are an asset
- Ability and willingness to work independently but also in a team in close cooperation with colleagues at KfW headquarters, the KfW Maputo Office as well as other stakeholders (German Cooperation partners etc.)
- Readiness for extensive travel in Mozambique and abroad
