Futures Group is hiring a GBV Advisor, for Maputo.

Duties
  • Represent the project in Mozambique through participation in FHI360 CAP technical meetings, and meetings with USAID/Mozambique, as well as other partner organizations on project activities
  • Review and contribute to development of project-related documents in Mozambique, as outlined in the HPP Year 2 Mozambique workplan
  • Develop a capacity strengthening plan with FHI360 CAP. The plan will detail a schedule for providing technical assistance to FHI360 CAP managers to strengthen their ability to provide gender and GBV TA to partner organizations. The plan will include actions required, persons responsible, technical assistance that is required from HPP, monitoring indicators, and a timeline
  • Provide ongoing technical assistance to FHI360 CAP according to the capacity strengthening plan
  • Update and renew the capacity development plans with up to 8 local organizations to integrate gender and GBV into their CAP-funded HIV and OVC programs.
  • Provide ongoing technical assistance to up to 6 local organizations according to a master capacity strengthening plan
  • Liaise with FHI360 CAP to coordinate timing of TA visits. Share updates on TA provided to local NGOs so FHI360 CAP staff can coordinate and link to project activities where appropriate
  • Identify and refer consultants to Futures Group to help implement Mozambique workplan activities
  • Coordinate a training team of intermittent consultants responsible for providing TA, coaching and mentoring to local NGOs on gender integration and GBV programming; monitor activities and performance of training team
  • Develop plan for closing down capacity strengthening activities with each of the project partners and handing over monitoring and TA responsibilities to CAP program staff
  • Draft sections of quarterly and semi-annual report in accordance with USAID and HPP requirements
  • Maintain detailed, accurate and timely records of all capacity-strengthening activities, per the project performance monitoring plan and M&E plan
  • Maintain weekly communication with project team in Washington DC to provide status updates, report problems and issues, and ensure a collaborative working relationship
  • Monthly activity reports (due by the 5th of every month)
Requisites
  • Master’s in Public Health, Gender studies, or related field
  • 8+ years of experience in the field of gender, GBV and HIV and AIDS prevention and services
  • Strong understanding of GBV policies and programs in Mozambique
  • Demonstrated experience in capacity strengthening, participatory training methodologies, and mentoring
  • Strong communication and team building skills
  • Comfortable working remotely with project staff
  • Effectively communicates project updates, problems and solutions
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Fluent in Portuguese
  • Proficient in English
  • Candidate must be currently residing in Mozambique
