Country Lead: SP – IPTi + Project (Sulfadoxine Pyrimethamine – Intermittent Preventive Treatment in Infants) (m/f)

PSI is recruiting a Country Lead: SP – IPTi+ Project (Sulfadoxine Pyrimethamine - Intermittent Preventive Treatment in Infants) (m/f), to be based in Maputo, Mozambique.
Description
  • Responsible as the country focal point to ensure the project is implemented as planned, enables strong coordination with the MoH including the NMCP (National Malaria Control Program) and EPI (Expanded Program on Immunization) program, supports the field team on a day-to-day basis to complete activities, identifies and resolves challenges as possible and proactively raises more serious challenges and risks to the SMT
  • Works with the in-country finance team to ensure good financial management, in collaboration with the Project Director and Sr. Program & Finance Manager.
Duties
Program and Financial Management
  • Responsible as the project focal point to ensure the project is implemented as planned
  • Monitors and updates project Gantt chart and other project management tools to keep project Senior Management Team (SMT) up-to-date on project progress
  • Completes monthly financial reviews and projections with the country finance staff and core project team members to ensure the budget is spent according to plan
Program Implementation
  • Plans and leads trainings related to the project pilot implementation and supervision
  • Supports the Project SMT to establish a country-level Project Advisory Group composed of key government and non-government stakeholders, serving as in-country focal point for the group which includes planning and holding quarterly meetings
  • Works with the Core Project Team to develop and deliver a Community and Civil Society Engagement Strategy
  • Works with the Core Project Team and PSI Technical Advisor to co-design and deliver Social and Behavior Change activities to support Project pilot implementation and success
  • Works with relevant government departments to support registration, importation and delivery of SP for the pilots to the appropriate pilot sites
Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning
  • Supports the SP-IPTi + M&E Coordinator to design and implement a robust M&E system for the SP-IPTi+ pilot
Staff Management and Development
  • Provides supervision, mentoring, feedback, and support to subordinates to ensure all deliverables are met
Requisites
  • Master’s degree or higher in Medicine, Public Health, Business, or related field
  • At least 10 years of experience working on health-related programs in the community, with a preference for malaria or EPI programs
  • At least 5 years of experience supervising and coaching a team
  • Experience and excellence in working with diverse teams
  • Demonstrated experience in malaria case management and/or malaria in infants
  • Ability to demonstrate significant experience working with national-level government stakeholders in the health sector
  • Strong program management skills including the ability to develop and monitor work plans and deliverables
  • Demonstrated budget management and the ability to understand and monitor project finances
  • Ability to multi-task, coordinate and oversee various work streams at the same time
  • Comfortable representing the Project to Government officials or other high-level stakeholders
  • Demonstrated strong leadership, communications, and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in Portuguese and English
  • Strong level of comfort and skills using the Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Teams, Advanced Excel, PPT)
