Core Network Engineer

EP Recruit is hiring a Core Network Engineer for Maputo.

Duties

• Devise and implement plans for network technical service support and project delivery, provide standard and professional service for users, and ensure customer problems are solved timely
• Optimize localized maintenance process and project delivery process and organization
• Maintain equipment running quality and provide equipment maintenance. Complete routine maintenance, Core network planning and optimization
• Provide high level support to internal engineers and to customers. Be the high level technical interface with the customers
• Do upgrades and migrations, Be on standby 24/7 for remote support as required
• Provide support for pre-sales and post-sales marketing. Compile BOQs for new and expansion projects. Provide training to internal staff and customers
• Roll out and complete acceptance of new core network products. Integrate core network into any existing core network products. Write technical reports, KPI reports, maintenance reports etc

Requirements

• Must be willing to travel for long periods of time away from base
• Must be willing to work non-standard work hours if required
• Must have at least 3 years core network equipment experience
• Must be an expert on at least some of the following core network products such as MSC, HLR, IMS, NGN, Switch, SGSN, GGSN, WASN etc
• Core network design experience is preferable. Strong knowledge of other products such as BSS/UTRAN/CDMA/WiMax is preferable
• Strong knowledge of SS7, SIGTRAN, H.248, MAP, CAMEL, INAP, V5.1/V5.2, ISDN, IP route is preferable
• Expert performance analysis capability of A/Iu/C/D/Mc/Nb/Nc Interface Protocol analysis, Voice traffic, CS, PS analysis
• Good adaptability and quick learner of new technical knowledge is essential
• Good Communication skills and multi-cultural environment experience is preferred Ability to communicate effectively, orally, and written in English. Ability for project management, communication, and coordination
• Basic knowledge of telecommunication
• Some basic protocol such as SS7/ISUP
• Has some knowledge of mobile network structure and mobile telecommunication principle
• Can use computer skilfully, be able to use any IT system and install or upgrade any software
• Can work hard with a good attitude with customers and colleagues
