CONTACT is recruiting a Contract Engineer Business Services, to be based in Maputo, Mozambique.
Duties
- Reporting to the CPL Director and the C&P Manager, the main activities of the Contract Engineer are to: work closely with the DUET to create the contracts dossier, develop a clear definition of contractual responsibilities and discuss the agenda
- Development of contracting strategy and issue call for tenders to find suitable expertise to support the different functions; negotiation and analysis of commercial bids; development of recommendations to award (RTA); ensure the update of the contract management tool; keep informed of best practices in contracts procedures in other entities for improvement of contracts practices in TEPMA1; identifying suitable expertise against existing frame contracts; develop technical contracts and contractual agreements, directly participate to the medium complexity contracts
- Leading the presentation of RTA to the contracts committee or the appropriate DOA approver with a common recommendation with DUET; assist C&P management in the settlement of claims and lawsuits, in relation with the legal, insurance, finance and TEPMA1 management by proposing strategies and actions and participating to the negotiations; monitoring on-going contracts statuses, participate in contract renewal and amendments discussions
- Provide professional advice and guidance to all contract owners/entities with respect to contractual matters; take the necessary measures to avert immediate threat of danger, exercising caution as necessary to avoid danger to persons and installations
- Participate actively in H3SE meetings, training sessions and drills and co-operate actively in the execution of H3SE plans; be in constant alignment with H3SE Company rules, Procedures, Instructions and applicable legislation
Requisites
- Master's Degree in a relevant area for the job
- Professional experience of 5-7 years in contracts within the Oil & Gas industry or similar
- Mid-level in Contracts technical Competencies is required
- C&P tools advanced certification is required
- Good knowledge and understanding of commercial, legal and insurance issues affecting the company in general
- Good command of English language (oral and written)
- Excellent communication skills
- Basic Management skills
- Advanced Human Relations skills
- Proven personal abilities in Problem Solving and Planning, Organizing, Coordinating or Controlling skills
- Living in the local area of the job will be an advantage
