Construction Supervisor- Infrastructure (m/f)

Heading is recruiting for its client, an Oil and Gas Company, a Construction Supervisor- Infrastructure (m/f), to be based in Afungi, Mozambique.
Duties
  • Conduct all activities in a safe and efficient manner in accordance with the company’s policies and procedures. Ensuring the welfare of personnel and the protection of assets and the environment at all times
  • Routinely study, check, review and validate the construction activities to ensure they comply with the latest approved project specifications, documents, and procedures
  • Attend daily coordination meetings to monitor progress and target completion dates as per the contract schedule and daily work plan, including providing feedback to Project Management through daily reports. Provide an atmospheric check and early warning for site Industrial Relations issues
  • Perform the witness, inspection and surveillance checks in accordance with contractor discipline Inspection and Test Plans, and the site quality plan including the completion of inspection Test records and Handover Dossiers
  • Support the Punchlist process and close out of punch list items
  • Ensure all approved modifications to works are recorded on red-lined as-built drawings and are verified
  • Demonstrate visible leadership and commitment to excellent HSE performance in accordance with Company’s HSE Management system and policies
  • Promote a safe site culture, attend daily Toolbox Talks with contractors, undertake audits, observe and intervene on unsafe acts
  • Review method statements for construction, pre-commissioning and commissioning activities to ensure compliance with stakeholder and workface co-ordination and integration, Quality, and HSE requirements. Review and communicate to relevant stakeholders and contractors accordingly
  • Ensure proper management of change, ensuring technical and project changes are approved and implemented, including reviewing TQs to ensure responses are appropriate and practical
  • In conjunction with other disciplines/ stakeholders, ensure contractor interfaces are both coordinated and planned to allow effective interface/SIMOPS coordination
Requisites
  • Degree in Civil Engineer
  • Minimum of 10 years relevant industry experience directly supervising (Civil)/(I&E) contractors and/or work crews in oil & gas facilities and infrastructure construction or extractive industry, either locally or on international, large scale projects
  • Proven track record working as Company Representative on lump sum or unit rate oil & gas projects
  • Experience with Microsoft Office programs (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook and Excel) and / or other relevant business information system. Ability to review and update job specifications, method statements, and other written deliverable and prepare regular construction and commissioning status reports
  • Proven track record to interact professionally with E&C contractors, Company Management, and other key stakeholders to resolve ambiguity, and maintain compliance with HSE, job specifications, project schedules, and other related company systems
  • Advanced knowledge of (civil and structural)/(instrument and electrical) activities for onshore infrastructure projects, such as roads, structures, utilities, buildings, electrical, controls, power, water, etc. relevant to the discipline
  • Knowledge of appropriate international codes, standards, and good construction practices within the (civil, structural, mechanical, piping)/(instrument, electrical) disciplines
  • Proven track record of HSE leadership in similar roles on large scale international projects
  • Able to work independently internally and externally to the organization, while keeping his/her direct supervisor informed and involved at key decision points
  • Fluent oral and written knowledge of English and Portuguese is required
