DAI is recruiting a Compliance Officer (m/f), to be based in Pemba, Mozambique.
Description
  • DAI is an international consulting firm headquartered in the United States with branch offices in Mozambique. DAI is accepting CVs from candidates for a Compliance Officer for the USAID Office of Transitions Initiatives (OTI)-funded Mozambique program
  • The Compliance Officer ensures compliance of all programmatic and operations activities in all offices. The position reports directly to the Deputy Chief of Party-Operations (DCOP-Ops) and will be based in Pemba, Mozambique. This is a local hire position and applicants must have the legal right to work in Mozambique
Duties
  • Monitor procurement, finance, administration and program processes as a means to identify and/or prevent possible violations including fraud, conflict of interest, or other violations of the ethical and moral duties of DAI staff
  • Provide compliance training to project staff, including fraud prevention and reporting
  • Actively respond to allegations of misconduct
  • Identify potential areas of financial vulnerability that are high risk; develop/implement practical corrective action plans to resolve issues
  • Conduct spot checks of procurement documentation, financial records, etc.
  • Work with DAI Home Office to ensure Ethics training is provided to all staff
  • Other duties as assigned by the DCOP-Operations
Requisites
  • University degree in relevant field. Master’s degree preferred
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in related role required
  • Relevant experience working on USAID contract in a related role highly preferred
  • Strong computer skills (MS Office suite) required
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills required
  • Fluency in one of the local languages of Cabo Delgado, such as Mwani, Makua, Makonde, or Swahili
  • English and Portuguese language skills required
