Aldelia is recruiting a Civil Assurance Engineer (m/f), to be based in Maputo, Mozambique.
Duties
  • Safety leadership of EPC Contractors and Subcontractors to achieve best in class safety performance in the field
  • Participate and promote the Contractor behavioral based safety program
  • Leadership and supervision of related Assurance activities in accordance with the EPC contract requirements, Construction Assurance Plan, supporting procedures and processes
  • Assist Onshore LNG Site Assurance Manager as required in the management of the overall Assurance program
  • Safety leadership of EPC Contractors and Subcontractors to achieve best in class safety performance in the field
  • Participate and promote the Contractor behavioral based safety program
  • Leadership and supervision of related Assurance activities in accordance with the EPC contract requirements, Construction Assurance Plan, supporting procedures and processes
  • Assist Onshore LNG Site Assurance Manager as required in the management of the overall Assurance program
  • Provide weekly reporting metrics of progress, issues within designated work scopes to Onshore LNG Site Assurance Manager
  • Interface with Company, Contractor and Subcontractor personnel
  • Plan and coordinate personal work scopes and schedule 90 day look ahead for Company Assurance Reviews
  • Strive to be aware of the cost and schedule implications of decisions, and raise any query that they have with the Onshore LNG Site Assurance Manager
  • Monitor both company and EPC Contractor progress and quality and confirm they are acceptable. If progress and/or quality is not acceptable, inform and work with Contractor and Total Management to improve performance to an acceptable level
  • Strive to be aware of the cost and schedule implications of decisions, and raise any query that they have with the Onshore LNG Site Assurance Manager
  • Monitor both company and EPC Contractor progress and quality and confirm they are acceptable. If progress and/or quality is not acceptable, inform and work with Contractor and Total Management to improve performance to an acceptable level
  • Implement Company Construction Assurance process
  • Participate in weekly Contractor Assurance Meetings
  • Monitor and review construction practices, including design control, document control, interface management and special processes
  • Where required monitor and participate in Contractors’ Subcontractor activities
  • Review and comment using the Company Document Management System Contractor and Subcontractor document deliverables such as ITP’s, specifications, work method statements, plans and procedures as required
  • Progressive review of Contractor documentation, including MDR’s and final dossiers in readiness for handover
  • Participate in Contractor led audits, ensuring audit reports are issued within acceptable time frame and audit actions are appropriately implemented
  • Liaise, as necessary, with other parts of the Mozambique LNG project, to ensure a consistent approach is taken to all project facilities in the civil/structural/geotechnical areas
  • Assure the project HSSE and Quality objectives are being followed
  • Report incidents and near misses immediately
  • Comply with a duty of care to ensure that safe practice is adhered to at all times. In addition to any specific accountability for HSSE, be accountable for ensuring that they adopt exemplary safe behaviors
Requisites
  • Education: Civil engineering degree or equivalent
  • Experience: Minimum of ten (10) or more years’ experience in the construction of LNG
  • Oil and Gas and/or Petrochemical facilities
  • Skills required: Lead auditor (ISO 9001 and/or 14001 and 45001/OHSAS 18001) with extensive experience in broad project assurance executions; Experience in construction, contracting, supply chain or field engineering preferred; A good understanding of financial controls and budgets; Proven ability to manage, influence and liaise with Contractors, Subcontractors and Key Stakeholders on site
  • Language: Fluent in English and Portuguese
