CDC Evaluation Specialist

US Embassy is recruiting a CDC Evaluation Specialist, to be based in Maputo, Mozambique.

Duties

• The Evaluation Specialist has primary responsibility for the design, development, approval, negotiation and implementation of program evaluations and operational research to assess the outputs, outcomes, and impact of CDC PEPFAR programs in Mozambique
• Incumbent collaborates with the Associate Director of Science to develop evaluation plans for the CDC office and partners, ensure evaluation and research activities align with CDC and Mozambican ethical standards, provide oversight for the appropriate reporting and dissemination of results, and ensuring collected data are appropriately stored and/or shared
• Incumbent provides technical assistance and training for capacity building for local partner organizations and the Ministry of Health in epidemiology and evaluation science
• Jobholder represents the agency on evaluation issues at technical and policy planning meetings at the community and national level, including meetings with collaborators and international donors
• Incumbent reports to CDC Mozambique’s Associate Director for Science

Requisites

• Medical Degree or Doctoral level degree with a focus in public health, social sciences, biostatistics, or evaluation is required
• A minimum of three years of progressively responsible work experience in public health research and/or evaluation in Mozambique at a university, higher education setting, government, health/medical research organization, or an international organization is required
• Level IV English (reading/speaking/writing) is required
• Level IV Portuguese (reading/speaking/writing) is require
