World Food Programme is recruiting a Business Support-Finance/Administration/Human Resources-SC5, to be based in Nampula, Mozambique.
Duties
  • Contribute to the overall coordination and implementation of WFP programmes in the Province
  • Compile monthly reports and ensure the data collection on enrolment, attendance, retention and pass rates of the programme as required
  • Support processing and managing routine administrative and financial tasks in various functional areas, to contribute to the effective and timely management of resources
  • Be accountable as Petty Cash holder
  • Provide revision and proof-reading services for standard documents, to contribute to the development of accurate documentation
  • Take responsibility for the maintenance of set standard systems and files, to ensure information is accurate and readily available for the function
  • Identify simple discrepancies in statistics and data, such as missing information, and report to senior staff in order to support clients to deliver their work
  • Take responsibility for data integrity to facilitate the availability of accurate information in corporate systems
  • Provide guidance on routine business support methods and practices to junior colleagues to ensure services are delivered consistently and to the required standards
  • Work with a variety of individuals, taking on feedback where appropriate to assist in business support delivery for staff
  • Be accountable for payments, petty cash management and financial reporting, jointly with the Head of Sub Office
  • Ensure that stock management of food and non-food items follow the recommended procedures (reception, registry and handling)
  • Perform other related duties as required
Requisites
  • Completion of secondary school education
  • Fluency in Portuguese language is essential
  • Good working knowledge of English (oral and written) is an asset
  • Knowledge and experience of the WFP or UN agencies and public sector especially on socio-economic development activities
  • Ability to communicate clearly both orally and in writing
  • Ability to work in a team, and establish an effective working relation with a person of different national and cultural backgrounds
  • Knowledge of spreadsheet software, such as Excel is an asset
  • Experience in Financial and Administrative systems, preferably relevant to specific area of development activities
  • Demonstrated capacity/hands-on experience in capacity building of field staff is desirable
  • Willingness to work either at provincial, district and school level is desirable
