Global Edge Consultants is hiring for a client, a well-known shipping logistics agency‘s newly established offshore division, a Business Development Manager (m/f), to be based in Pemba.
Duties
- Active securing of new business and strong marketing capability in the Northern ports of Mozambique, including the Greenfields Project at Palma
- Focused networking with the offshore industry at all levels and make presentations of the Group’s offerings
- Gathering and management of information on customers and competitors in order to identify opportunities for expanding services
- Generating sales leads as well as develop and deliver formal proposals, presentations and marketing campaigns
- Growing and developing the business
- Drafting business reports on developments in the area and reporting to Executive Management
- Identifying customer needs and logistics solutions
- Follow through from initial customer interaction to delivery of service
Requisites
- Marketing / Business degree preferable
- 10 years’ experience in the offshore industry
- 3 - 5 years’ experience in a managerial role or similar position
- Solid experience in the offshore industry, logistics, ships agency or EPIC developments preferable
- Portuguese and English speaking and eligible for a valid working visa, a must
- Ability to prioritise and plan work
- Ability to meet reporting deadlines and work well under pressure
- Strong business acumen and problem solving ability
- Strong organisational and administration skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to relate effectively with clients at a high level; well-developed communication skills - persuasive communicator
- Computer literate MS Office/ MS Word / MS Excel / MS PowerPoint
- Presentation Skills
- Ability to effectively meet customer needs; build productive customer relationships; take responsibility for customer satisfaction and loyalty
- Ability to travel as and when required to do so
