Heading is recruiting for its client, an oil and gas company, an Aviation Superintendent, to be based in Cabo Delgado, Mozambique.
Duties
  • Adhere at all times to the values and principles of the Company Code of Conduct
  • Be conversant/comply with Mozambique Legislation, Company Rules, Procedures and Instructions ensure full compliance with SOX standards with respect to system security and reporting
  • Be in line with international, national regulations and TEPPMA1 HSE requirements applicable to his domain of activities
  • Promotes and supervises the necessary preventive and corrections action plans to ensure safety of personnel, the protection of the environment and integrity of equipment in his domain of activities
  • Participates in the investigations of incidents and accidents related to his activity ; - Participates in HSE safety tours on areas related to his activities
  • When required, contributes into the REX+ and prepares Safety Feedback Notices
  • Plans, coordinates and monitors aviation rotary and fixed wings operations around all sites as well as activities associated to Pemba airport in close collaboration with various entities
  • TEPMA1 departments, aviation operators and other contractors, service companies and providers
  • Maintains a close contact with sites, air operator(s), Pemba airport and air traffic control services with regards flights activities planning / realization, activation / de-activation of SAR watch and weather updates
  • Coordinates passenger check-in process with concerned air operators representatives, ground services (INEX process, manifesting of PAX and cargo, boarding pasess provisions and trouble shooting)
  • Promotes safe and responsible work culture and an injury-free work environment
  • Promptly reports all unsafe conditions (anomalies) related to the aviation operations and passenger transit
  • Drafts the daily flight program and issues the revisions when required; proposes improvements to flight programs to optimize aircraft utilization
  • Keeps abreast of all operational changes to timely coordinate amendments to the daily flight program
  • Follows up on flights progress and reports it to his/her hierarchy
  • Verifies, consolidates and ensures timely distribution of all passengers and freights manifests
  • Has the authority to delay or completely cancel any flight if unsafe conditions detectet primary conact point in case of suspended flight (flight following feedback from the air operator – site level)
  • Jet fuel follow up management & management (operations, needs and trouble shooting) Based on the provided data from the air operator keeps upto date the KPIs data base
  • Carry out any other activities as may be assigned by Site / Management. - Whenever required, contribute into the TEPMA1 operational proceesdure developments, applications and improvments. - Issue a daily report and a weekly report
  • Prepares audit reports and tracker file for the follow up of corrective actions and any other ad-hoc reports when requested by the management
  • When required, implement database for the monitoring of all licenses, certificates and training required for air operator’s personnel.
  • Assesses and provides a clear picture of the situation in the sector of hisactivity in terms of personnel competence, training, document review (procedures, certificates, maintenance records, training documentation, etc.) and aviation means effeciancy utilization/application
  • Accountabilities:
  • Accountable to run smooth Aviation Operation as per operational requirement
  • To ensure Aviation operation are performed as per Company Rules and General Specifications as directed by Aviation Advisor
  • To Plan and coordinate aviation activities at Site(s) level adhering optimization the the aircrafts applications
Requisites
  • Has a minimum of 10 years experience in Oil & Gas Upstream Industry and/or Aviation activities
  • Knowledge of the TOTAL aviation referential, O&G aviation standards (IOGP)and ICAO & EASA regulation, IQSMS system
  • Knowledge or equivalent
  • Previous experience in air operator operations, capability to produce procedures, manual and studies
  • Proven experience in a multi-cultural context, experience of relationship with air operators, airport services, rigor, sense of organization, ability to anticipate
  • Good command of English and Portugese (as a plus) and advanced MS Office user
