
The candidate has more than 15 years experience in the engineering/construction private sector for small, medium and large projects, as a consultant and contractor. In the construction sector project implementation, Claudio was the Project and Contract Manager for the Rehabilitation of United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) main office buildings in Maputo. Acted as Project Coordinator for building three secondary schools for the Japanese International Cooperation Agency (JICA) and many other projects as described bellow. Within the consultant sector, the candidate acted as the deputy team leader for the Nacala Dam Feasibility Study, Environmental and Social Impact Assessment, Design and Supervision for the Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC), under the Millennium Challenge Account (MCA) Compact in Mozambique. Claudio also acted as Project Coordinator for the Feasibility Study of Lúrio Dam, Revubue Dam and Three Borders Dam under the Public Private Partnerships with Government of Mozambique. The three borders dam, located in Maputo river in Mozambique but within the border limits between Mozambique, South Africa and Swaziland, was developed as a potential option to respond to the increased of water scarcity in the Maputo Province with the main purpose to improve the management of water resources in the three Countries, to supply water for consumption and irrigation in the southern area of Maputo Province, to generate 30 MW average of clean energy and promote flood control. Claudio has got, extensive proven knowledge on the Environmental, Social and Resettlement thematic areas and implementation experience through his involvement with the Environmental & Social Impact Assessment of Water Supply Pipeline for Mozal, Environmental Impact Assessment of Transgenic Maize With Traits Conferring Insect Pest Protection and Drought Tolerance for Variety Testing Leading to Release For Cultivation in Mozambique, for African Agricultural Technology
