Physician with expertise in health project management and staff management in private, public, and international NGO settings in Sub-Saharan Africa. My technical expertise includes HIV/AIDS treatment and prevention, OVC, TB infection control, maternal and adolescent health, Malaria and urgent care as well as reproductive and family health. My advocacy skills at both local and national levels has resulted in the strengthening of how best to implement Mozambique Ministry of Health’s national health protocols and also to improve the health system at local, district and provincial levels. My project management experience encompasses international USAID and PEPFAR CDC grants management, financial and staff management, target achievement, and quality focused evaluation methods and oversight. My strong ability to work in productive alliances with donors, civil society organizations and government entities has resulted in health improvements for large Mozambican populations infected with HIV and/or TB. Operational research opportunities to better understand and implement best practices are a priority in my work.
