Dr. Fausto Vilanculos is a First-class General Practitioner, Postgraduate in Management and Management of HIV/AIDS from the University of Stellenbosch, Cape Town, and Finalist in Masters of Public health (environmental and occupational health). He has 14 years of professional experience, of which the first 4 years was working in the national health system, providing clinical services, primary health care and assistance in medical emergencies. The last 10 years he has been working in Non-Governmental Organizations in the implementation of health care projects that include HIV/AIDS, Tuberculosis, Malaria, scientific research in health and Medical emergencies linked to natural disasters, occupational health and the COVI-19 pandemic in provincial and national coordinating position with funds funded by PEPFAR, GLOBAL FUND and TOTAL ENERGY. In his working experience, has held the positions of HIV Self-testing Manager in Mozambique, National Coordinator of INSIDA 2020, National Coordinator of Male Circumcision and HIV Preventive Services, Jhpiego Gaza Provincial Representative, in addition to other positions as Emergency Response Service Coordinator after Cyclone IDAI, Occupational Health Physician in response to COVID-19. In activities portfolio, he ensured the implementation of HIV self-testing initiative in Mozambique at PSI, whose objective was to seek evidence of the best approaches and innovative solutions to reach the potential HIV key and vulnerable population for, in order to reduce the gap (95-95-95), including reducing the rate of new HIV infections and increasing linkages to care and treatment, PrEP initiation as well as promotion of HIV preventive approaches. In the INSIDA 2020 project implemented by ICAP, he coordinated the fieldwork teams of the national HIV prevalence survey in the sample and data collection/management to provide HIV national surveillance indicators.
