My name is Dércio Betane, BSc in Agronomic Engineering. I currently work as a Quality, Health Safety and Environment (QHSE) Assistant at Bolloré Transport & Logistics, I am responsible for implementing the HSE Policy and the HSE Standards. The professional experience I’ve gained in this role has helped me learn complex problem-solving skills and applying the Plan, Do, Review, Improve (PDRI) approach while improving my overall Environmental Sustainability, Occupational Safety and Health knowledge. While at the university, I was working closely with Rural Engineering Department chiefly, where I worked with Farm Machinery Design and Testing for smallholder farmers application. I also played a part in Agricultural Productivity Program for Southern Africa (APPSA), supporting on regionally agricultural research, technology dissemination and training.
