Dr. Tina Vilanculo graduated as GP from the Faculty of Medicine at Eduardo Mondlane University, in Maputo, Mozambique, in 2000; then worked at the NHS at the Provincial Hospital of Tete (a 3rd level of health care in Mozambique NHS). While working as a Clinician, also served as Clinical Director and as the focal point of the government to implement the Belgian Government projects with the ITM of Antwerpian, Ghent University and with MSF at the HIV day hospital. She has engaged in operational research to mitigate HIV/AIDS impact. After acquiring her master’s degree in PH-Disease Control in 2008, she worked at the DPS in Manica Province to coordinate the implementation of Public Health programs focusing on endemic diseases i.e. Malaria, TB, HIV, diarrheal diseases such as cholera and noncommunicable diseases. Over the last 11 years, she has gained experience working with American NGOs to implement public health projects aimed at mitigating and controlling HIV epidemic in Mozambique following the UNAIDS goals, from the area of training, Prevention (including HIV testing and TB screening), C&T for people living with HIV and for key and vulnerable pop. The collaboration with NGOs, allowed to gain experience working as a Clinical/Technical Advisor in the development of clinical content for pre-service and in-service training material, in the design of standards/norms for prevention, control and C&T in area of infectious diseases (including HIV/AIDS and related illness): as Senior Public Health Technician collaborating in the planning, implementation and monitoring of activities in projects aiming to strengthening services in clinical and community HIV/AIDS program at district and provincial level; as provincial and national manager for managing resources in implementing projects funded by PEPFAR. Recently worked in HIVST implementation through STAR initiative. Experience on teaching at the Public institution of health and Catholic University.
