I have over 20 years of professional experience in drafting, implementing, coordinating, monitoring and evaluating agricultural projects and managing extension team, as well as strategic and tactical institutional planning, resource mobilization for agricultural projects and programs implementation. Within my work experience, 18 years was dedicated to cotton and copra value chains. I have experience as Cotton Extension & Production Manager, as Technical Advisor and Principal Engineer on designing of various programs and projects for the cotton subsector in Mozambique, such as cotton training of trainers program for building capacity of the technicians of IAM and companies, technical innovation programs such as famer field schools, cotton index weather based insurance program, managing partnership between public sector and private sector through the monitoring matrix of the cotton extension contracts and organizing the annual meetings, technical and technology transfer programs to the farmers including negotiations for the implementation of the Better Cotton Program (BCI) in the country, including working with different donors like EU, FDA, CABI, BCA on agrarian programs and projects implementation. Since 1st August 2016 up to date, I am employed at OLAM Mozambique, as Country Extension Manager for cotton business. On this position I have the role to coordinate all extension and cotton production activities, managing a team of 58 members, ensuring organization and engagement for production of over 30,000 farmers and managing procurement of necessary inputs within the cotton concession areas owned by Olam.
