25-year experience of working in communicable disease, mostly in malaria and HIV/AIDS; from research to program management and/or directorship. Currently, I am the Scientific Director of CISM, since November 2016. Relevant past positions include: (i) Director of the National Malaria Control Program (NMCP) and Head of Communicable Disease at the Ministry of Health in Mozambique (4 years); ii) 7-year international work experience as USAID/Angola Resident Advisor for the US President’s Malaria Initiative (5 years) and USAID/Rwanda Resident Advisor for the US President’s Malaria Initiative (2 years); iii) Director of the Male Circumcision Program and then Clinical Director for the “HIV/AIDS Services Strengthening Project (CHASS-SMT) at FHI360 for 1 year; iv) Director of Malaria Elimination Initiative in southern Mozambique, at CISM (5years).
