Summary

My overall goal is to contribute towards achieving sustainable development goals (SDGs) through national and international natural resource management policies and regulations, and to unlock economic opportunities that benefit all, while reducing inequalities between women, men and youth. Coming from an Agronomic Engineering background, my main focus over the past 6 years of work experience and training has been in strengthening agricultural value chains through business opportunities, increased production and productivity, and means of livelihoods for rural farmers. I have good communication and facilitation skills, and have facilitated several workshops involving stakeholders such as farmers, government officials, extension officers, agro-dealers, buyers of produce and financial institutions to discuss and come up with solutions for issues hampering agricultural production and productivity. Aware of the impacts of climate change on communities’ means of livelihoods, I pursued a Masters of Environmental Science in Australia where I had a particular focus on sustainable management of natural resources and application of geographic information systems and remote sensing. This degree has also equipped me with knowledge and skills in environmental, social and economic impact assessment studies for different types of development programs; development of strategies for mitigation and adaptation; development of environmental management plans; and other fields related to the environment and natural resources.
