Baltazar Chilundo

Summary

Baltazar Chilundo has over 18 years of experience in the practice, research and education of public health domains (strategic information, monitoring and evaluation, health systems, primary health care and health policy) in low-income countries. Over the past 15 years he has focused his work on HIV, malaria, sexual and reproductive health, community health workers and primary health care. He is currently the national director of Strategic Information Unit for ICAP at Columbia University in Mozambique. He has also played the role of national director of strategic information (research, monitoring and evaluation) for Malaria Consortium Mozambique, Johns Hopkins University Center for Communication Programs in Mozambique and Pathfinder International in Mozambique. Baltazar Chilundo played key positions mainly as senior official of research, monitoring and evaluation of projects like FORTE Saúde (a USAID consortium project implemented by Chemonics International, JHPIEGO and Health Alliance International) and Bassopa Malaria Mozambique (a USAID consortium project implemented by Chemonics International and Malaria Consortium). Underpinning his work is the use of tools like dhis2 for planning and M&E, theories of change, results-based management, logical frameworks. He is currently a member of National Medical Council.
