Senior Accountant

Duties

• Reporting to the Finance Manager, will be responsible for overseeing the company’s accounting, financial and administrative activities, ensuring the reliability of financial information, financial control and compliance with legal and tax obligations; review and reconcile financial transactions on a daily basis, manage accounts payable and receivable for the network of shops, and ensure the timely preparation and submission of tax returns, including VAT, IRPC, IRPS and INSS
• Monitor the issuing of invoices, withholding tax and tax records, as well as managing assets, monitoring depreciation, conducting stock-takes and reconciling revenue from provincial shops with the central accounts; manage cash flows, cash management and liquidity; monitor bank accounts and financial inflows and outflows; and prepare, implement and evaluate the annual budget and monthly forecasts
• Monitor operating costs, including fuel, fleet maintenance, wages and spare parts; prepare financial reports and performance indicators to support management decision-making; supervise, guide and train administrative and accounting assistants; represent the company in dealings with Autoridade Tributária, the INSS, banking institutions and strategic suppliers

Requisites

• Degree in Accounting, Finance, Management, or related fields
• Minimum of 5 years of proven experience in senior financial, accounting, or administrative management roles
• Deep, updated knowledge of Mozambican tax legislation, statutory compliance, and local labour law
• Advanced analytical capabilities, sharp attention to detail, and a highly organized, results oriented mindset
• Strong communication skills, leadership capacity, and a high sense of professional ethics and responsibility
• Proficiency in English is mandatory
• Mozambican nationality
