Heading is recruiting a Procurement Assistant, to be based in Tete, Mozambique.
Duties
- Actively participating in all phases of projects and the lifecycle of products
- Ensuring transparent, documented, and fact-based decisions for supplier selection and order placement
- Ensure mutual, documented decisions with internal clients regarding suppliers and purchase orders
- Applying mandatory negotiation of terms and prices for all sourcing activities (even for small values, a discount request is expected)
- Preparing and issuing requests for quotation (RFQs), reviewing supplier offers, and coordinating clarifications
- Preparing input data for processing and facilitation of the purchases, as well as facilitation of decision-making process for Site Management and local entity
- Ensuring all supplier documentation is delivered correctly and completely, and reviewing it for errors or omissions
- Reporting to Site Manager, Project Procurement Manager and Onshore Manager
- Setting up deadlines and defining priorities in the daily site purchasing process to support installation activities with material supply
- Joint evaluation of logistics strategies (e.g., delivery terms) to ensure the lowest total cost
- Preparing documentation for booking of goods, works and services and further payment Release
- Perform Supplier Management
Requisites
- Advanced level of education (knowledge to read, write and calculate)
- Completed commercial and/or technical education
- Professional experience in a comparable position
- Estimated 2 to 5 years of professional experience in procurement, supply chain, or logistics, preferably within large-scale construction sites, engineering projects, or industrial environments
- Knowledge of general office procedures
- Ability to operate office equipment (fax, copier, mail, etc.)
- Knowledge of local market/available companies
- General knowledge about used terms for tools and materials of the trade in technical language at construction site
- Motivation to work in an international team
- Good communication skills with multinational/multi-location Teams
- Expertise of English language (both spoken and writing)
- Negotiation ability
- Good IT knowledge (use of MS Office Tools)
- Availability of a driving license valid for Mozambique / experienced driver
