Chemonics is recruiting a Human Resources Assistant, to be based in Maputo, Mozambique.
Description
- Background: The overall goal of GHSC-PSM is to procure and provide health commodities for all USG health programs, including but not limited to, HIV/AIDS, Malaria, as well as provide systems strengthening technical assistance to improve supply chain management and commodity security in Mozambique. The Human Resources Assistant will support the Operations and Human Resources Manager in day-to-day administrative and HR tasks, ensuring smooth coordination and documentation of HR processes and compliance with relevant policies and regulations
Duties
Human Resources Support
- Assist in the recruitment process by coordinating interviews, collecting biodata, and maintaining candidate records
- Support onboarding processes by preparing training materials and scheduling orientation sessions for new hires
- Help maintain personnel files in both hard and soft copy formats, ensuring completeness and compliance
- Track and record staff leave and timesheet submissions, ensuring timely approvals and accurate documentation
- Serve as a point of contact for staff inquiries related to HR policies, benefits, and documentation requirements
- Assist in updating HR templates and manuals in line with Mozambique labour laws and organizational policies
- Coordinate with staff and supervisors to support the completion and filing of annual evaluations
- Support the documentation and filing of disciplinary actions and employee relations matters under the guidance of the Operations and HR Manager
Administrative Support
- Assist in managing office maintenance and repairs by coordinating with relevant personnel
- Support emergency contact updates and reporting in collaboration with the Safety and Security Focal Point
- Provide administrative support to the Receptionist/Administrative Assistant
- Perform other administrative tasks as delegated by the Operations and Human Resources Manager
Requisites
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources management, project administration, or related field
- Minimum 2-4 years of experience in HR support roles within development projects or organizations
- Familiarity with Mozambique labour laws and USG project requirements preferred
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism
- Good interpersonal and communication skills
- Fluency in English required
