CONTACT is recruiting a Local Food Supply Chain & Hygiene Quality Standard Coordinator, to be based in Pemba, Mozambique.
Duties
- Reporting to the HSE Site Manager and the Site Director / RSES, the main activities of the position includes: lead in the designing, approval, and implementation, budget management, evaluation and reporting of food chain supply projects within Cabo Delgado province
- Lead in the contractual arrangements to ensure local food supply chain, local value chain, catering arrangements (meals rate, menu specifications; menu; manpower) embedded within TEPMA1 Contractors and other suppliers to satisfy the company's needs; work closely with contractors in mentorship, and develop capacity building of Implementing Partners, MSME’s and all food supply chain components to ensure compliance of food safety and hygiene quality standards (HACCP; GMP; GAP; GHP; ISO, GFSI, etc.)
- Access, review and monitor the company's menus to meet all recommended dietary allowances, nutritional requirements, and all local production; develop / improve, implement, and oversee comprehensive food safety and quality programs and policies in food supply chain to ensure compliance with local, national and international regulations (this includes standards such as HACCP, FSMA, GMP and others); engage internal and external stakeholders in developing the local market by training and purchasing from local entrepreneurs
- Develop, lead, and execute purchasing strategies to maximize the local content and footprint of the company's sites; develop educational initiatives and events to promote nutritional, food security and sustainable practices in food supply chain components; conducting internal health & hygiene inspections and audits with medical team and main contractors at the company's camps; develop, monitoring, reviewing, analyzing performance metrics and data trends with suppliers and contractors highlighting improvement requirements or opportunities; comply with local and national authorities laws and regulations
Requisites
- Complete higher education in Agronomy, Nutrition, Food Science, Food Safety, Hygiene and Quality
- Minimum of 10 years relevant administrative experience required, in a multi-national company as preference requirement
- Experience in the establishment and/or growth of local value chains
- Fluent English and Portuguese, oral and written. Speaking French is a plus
- Skills in Mozambican and International Laws, Regulations and ISO’s (ISO 22000; ISO 9001; ISO 14001; HACCP and other relevants)
- Knowledge of methods and tools for evaluating and monitoring projects
- Proactive and action-oriented team player
- Project management experience with a focus on the implementation of management systems, planning skills, and workload management
- Ability to plan, implement and track project results and performance measures with the creation and monitoring of robust indicators
- Able to work in multicultural context
