Operations Manager (m/f)

Duties

• Responsible for leading the overall management of the operations ensuring client satisfaction, data excellence, health and safety enforcement, ensuring staff well-being, discipline, strong lead and cost management overview
• Directly liaise with client and attend to their requests as senior interface
• Report progress to the client at significant operations milestones
• Ensure overall quality of results, QAQC and HSE procedures are in line
• To attend all project management meetings
• Contributes to know-how exchange through Knowledge Management
• Insure the quality of the operations (in time, cost, profitability and Bureau Veritas QAS norms)
• Contribute to developing/improving policies, standards, core processes and evaluation principles
• Oversee technical and organizational management as well as the financial aspects of the project, manage a budget
• Manage firmly and with strong hand a large (10-20) team of specialists, and a large team of operators and analysts (50)
• Ensure HR procedures are followed, liaise with union representatives
• May negotiate and manage contracts with external suppliers

Requisites

• Bachelor Degree in Engineering or related fields
• Minimum of 5 years’ project management work experience
• Experience in mining and/or commodities operations is a plus
• Experience leading teams of more than 60 people is a plus
• Portuguese basic level is a plus
• Previous experience in Africa is a plus
