Aldelia is recruiting an Operations Manager (m/f), to be based in Tete, Mozambique.
Duties
- Responsible for leading the overall management of the operations ensuring client satisfaction, data excellence, health and safety enforcement, ensuring staff well-being, discipline, strong lead and cost management overview
 
- Directly liaise with client and attend to their requests as senior interface
 
- Report progress to the client at significant operations milestones
 
- Ensure overall quality of results, QAQC and HSE procedures are in line
 
- To attend all project management meetings
 
- Contributes to know-how exchange through Knowledge Management
 
- Insure the quality of the operations (in time, cost, profitability and Bureau Veritas QAS norms)
 
- Contribute to developing/improving policies, standards, core processes and evaluation principles
 
- Oversee technical and organizational management as well as the financial aspects of the project, manage a budget
 
- Manage firmly and with strong hand a large (10-20) team of specialists, and a large team of operators and analysts (50)
 
- Ensure HR procedures are followed, liaise with union representatives
 
- May negotiate and manage contracts with external suppliers
 
Requisites
- Bachelor Degree in Engineering or related fields
 
- Minimum of 5 years’ project management work experience
 
- Experience in mining and/or commodities operations is a plus
 
- Experience leading teams of more than 60 people is a plus
 
- Portuguese basic level is a plus
 
- Previous experience in Africa is a plus
