FHI360 is recruiting a Project Manager, to be based in Maputo.
Duties
- Plans, directs, and coordinates activities and maintain contact with mSTAR partners on the ground to ensure that goals and objectives are accomplished within prescribed time frame and funding parameters
 
- Provide routine updates to USAID Mozambique, USAID Washington, and mSTAR Project Director on progress of activities, constraints, issues, etc
 
- Establishes work plans, project teams, and SOPs to meet project goals and ensure compliance with policies
 
- Provides guidance and training to staff and partners to achieve project goals
 
- Establishes, serves and maintains partnerships with internal and external stakeholders on project matters. Facilitate dialogue amongst mSTAR activity implementing partners
 
- Maintains relationship with relevant Ministries within the Government of Mozambique
 
- Develop procedures that integrate M&E efforts into regular management and technical activities, and communicate those procedures with all relevant staff and partners
 
- Coordinate the implementation of a recurring Mobile Usage Survey and data collection in 4 districts
 
- Along with the finance and admin team, oversee the procurement of local service providers as necessary
 
- Accompany a mobile solutions specialist (provided by one of the mSTAR international partner organizations) to meetings during their production of assessments and action plans
 
- Assist mSTAR partners in coordinating Roundtable events and other activities
 
Requisites
- Experience successfully implementing USAID-funded cooperative agreements for a minimum of two years, required
 
- Experience managing monitoring and evaluation for USAID programs
 
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
 
- Experience and/or interest in mobile solutions for social impact
 
- Demonstrated project and personnel management skills
 
- Ability to influence, motivate, and collaborate with others
 
- Ability to adapt and resolve problems/issues to bring to completion
 
- Energetic and collaborative team player
 
- Must be comfortable working in a fast paced and sometimes intense working environment
 
- Demonstrated technical expertise in mobile solutions and/or financial services, preferred
 
- Two years of experience in implementing USAID projects
 
- Articulate, professional and able to communicate in a clear, positive manner with clients and staff
 
- BA in development, economics, or other relevant field
 
- Must be able to read, write and speak fluent English
 
- Working familiarity with technology and IT systems
 
- Prior experience managing economic development activities preferred
 
- Mozambican national
