• Main Duties

Duties

• Read and interpret welding blueprints and drawing specifications
• Repair of parts of plant machinery and tools
• Conduct mechanical maintenance in crucial areas of the plant to ensure continuous operation
• Perform all work in a planned and organised manner, follow instructions and plans, and complete work on schedule
• Perform quality workmanship and ensure that work performed meet all statutory requirements and company standards
• Housekeeping duties of workshop area
• Ensure a safe work environment and compliance to all HSEQ regulations and standards during the work and ensure compliance with statutory and other regulations as are required by law
• Review and where necessary suggest changes that will improve the department occupational health, safety, quality and efficiency performance

Requisites

• Relevant trade/qualification in welding or similar skills acquired by experience
• Relevant Welding work experience is a must
• Know and understand welding symbols and weld procedures
• Know and understand weld defects and their causes
• Ability to follow instructions and guidelines
• Able to work as part of a team
• High attention to detail
• Strong organization and time management skills
• Hardworking, flexible and good team player
