The U.S. Embassy in Maputo announces an internship opportunity in the Public Affairs Section.
Duties
Work within the Public Affairs Section (PAS) primarily working to support PAS’s outreach efforts to the greater Mozambican community in both English and Portuguese through social media tools, advertising and in-person outreach support
PAS is primarily responsible for all external communications, including online, print, and radio media, on behalf of the U.S. Embassy in both English and Portuguese
Determine, plan, and implement additional communication efforts on behalf of the U.S. Mission and to work with educational advising and exchanges programs administered through PAS
Utilize the Microsoft Office suite and help develop and work on the web site and help develop communications efforts
Requisites
Must be in final year of a university program
Level III English required
Level IV Portuguese required
Experience using online social media tools, including Facebook, are required
Experience may be personal or educational
Flexible within the following times: Monday-Thursday 07:30-17:30 and Friday 08:30-11:30 (duration of six months with the possibility of extending to one year)
Must be able to work in a multicultural environment, under the pressure of deadlines, and in a fast-paced environment
