Plumber

US Embassy is recruiting a Plumber, to be based in Maputo.

Duties

• Incumbent performs evaluation, repair, maintenance and replacement of piping and plumbing systems or components in government owned or leased buildings, residences, structures and grounds
• Performs and supports other maintenance work as directed

Requisites

• Completion of high school (12th grade) is required and 18 months of vocational training in plumbing trade is required. AND a minimum of three years plumbing experience is required
• Completion of 10th grade and 18 months of vocational training in Plumbing trade, with a minimum of five years of plumbing experience
• Language Proficiency: Level II (working knowledge) speaking/reading/writing English is required. Level III (working knowledge) speaking/reading/writing Portuguese is also required
• Valid driver’s license with ability to drive a vehicle with manual transmission vehicle is required
• Ability to design and install replacement piping or distribution systems that will be efficient, not leak and conform with uniform building codes, and State Department Regulations is required
