Regional Training Manager

Rare is recruiting a Regional Training Manager, to be based in Maputo.

Duties
  • Serve as the technical lead and expert on regional Pride training projects in the areas of adult education, session development, facilitation, and classroom management and Fish Forever curriculum, set training objectives, content, tools, deliverables, methodologies, and grading processes
  • Conduct needs assessments, plan learning strategies, develop customized training, ensure learner-centered methodologies, employ innovative and pedagogically-sound teaching/learning tools, train trainers, design workshops, manage highly-varied content and training budget
  • Manage classroom by setting, administering the teaching schedule, lead the team in managing coursework, assignments, timelines, workloads, grading processes, UTEP relations with regionally-assigned professor, local university relations and communicate to the team the training methodologies, tools, and standards
  • Create and implement the vision for regional staff training aligned to world-class standards in all areas related to training development and implementation in the region to ensure programmatic teams and individuals have the necessary skills and resources to implement and scale cohorts of Pride campaigns
  • Conduct periodic site visits to assess participant skills, staff and team learning needs, as they relate to the learning strategy and training objectives
  • Identify cutting-edge tools and resources to enhance staff capacity on relevant topics
Requisites
  • Experience in designing validated curricula at diploma or degree level
  • Experience in social marketing, community development, and project planning/management highly desirable
  • Intercultural/multicultural experience and cross-cultural competency required
  • Management experience of both direct reports and international indirect reports with an understanding of distance learning and using online communications to coordinate education efforts across geographically dispersed areas Strong knowledge of key players in the national, regional and international conservation/community development community is a plus Willingness and ability to meet demands of significant international travel (40%) Written and spoken fluency in Portuguese and English required Master’s degree or equivalent experience required; advanced degree preferred
